Gary L. FitzHugh, Ph.D.
Career Synopsis
Dr.
FitzHugh has over 25 years of management and technical experience in both
industry and government. He has held
several key positions within the Department of Defense, has held the CEO
position in four successful startup companies, and has been appointed a company
officer in several high-technology firms.
Co-Founder of Mithras Enterprises, Inc. and The SBIR Network – both
small business consulting firms - both active. Co-Founder, President and CEO of
Protonetics International that
developed a new type of fuel cell based on a ceramic electrolyte material that
exhibits high protonic conductivity at elevated temperatures - sold to
CoorsTec. Founder, President, and
CEO, of Shadow Research International, a small business with a technical
concentration into science and technology with a specific application for the
Navy's Logistics Productivity RDT&E Program. Merged with SYS Technologies. Served as the Vice President, Research and
Technology for CPU Tech. Responsible for
development of technology-based embedded computer application hardware using
CPU Tech's compatible processor strategy.
Served as VisiCom Laboratory’s Vice President for Research and
Technology. Responsible for development
of technology-based embedded computer application hardware using VHSIC Hardware
Description Language and programmable electronics. Vice President and General Manager,
Electronic Warfare/C3 Countermeasures Programs, Titan Electronics. Responsible for total operation of this business
unit which included Electronic Warfare, C3 Countermeasures, Tactical/Strategic
SIGINT, Electronic Cover and Deception, and Vulnerability Assessment.
Director, Special Projects and Advanced Systems, Loral Electro-Optical Systems. Responsible for light spectrum Electronic
Warfare systems research and development and development of compartmented,
cryptologic-related systems. Served in
various operational and staff positions as an Officer in the US Navy. Dr. FitzHugh holds a BA in Math/Physics from Albuquerque, an MBA from Marymount University, and a Ph.D in Computer Engineering from LaSalle.
